| Kirste Milligan is an Anglo/ American who moved from NYC to Italy
with her family in 1973.After completing art studies in Florence and
Venice she pursued a career in university study abroad programs. She
worked as a director of art programs in Florence and Siena for the
American Institute of Foreign Studies and schools such as Richmond
College, Mount St. Mary’s, and Santa Rosa College. She also developed
programs in bilingual education for US teachers used throughout Italy.
These experiences caused her career to shift towards bilingual
education with children. She taught four years at middle school and
two years at elementary school in Florence as an EFL teacher
developing a unique program. She does extensive volunteer work in the
Florence community with groups such as UNICEF, AVO and People to
People. |
